i. Visa

Upon confirmation of application, students are reminded to confirm whether they need a visa or not prior to entrance into Malaysia at any of the following places:-

• Malaysian Embassy in the respective / nearby countries;
• Malaysian Consulate in the respective  / nearby countries; or
• Ministry of Foreign Affairs / Immigration Department in the respective countries.

Applicants who are required to have a visa to enter Malaysia include the following:-

• Nationals of non-Commonwealth countries;
• Nationals from countries with no agreement on visa abolishment with Malaysia; and
• Nationals of Commonwealth countries from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nigeria.

If visa is needed, applicants are required to bring the passport along with the student pass approval letter from the Malaysian Immigration Department (the letter will be posted to you) or the offer letter from the college/university to the nearest Malaysian Embassy or Consulate for visa application.

ii. Student Pass Application

All international students are obliged to have a student’s pass throughout their study in the college/university. The international passport is required to be submitted to the Centre for Graduate Studies during registration together with the following documents:-

• 3 copies of passport sized photographs;
• 3 copies of international passport (all pages);
• 1 copy of offer letter; and
• 1 copy of leave letter and final examination result (if the student has studied in any public or private institutions of higher learning or schools in Malaysia).

iii. Journey Performed Process Fees

The Malaysian Immigration Department has directed for additional charge of RM500.00 payable to the Department by students who enter Malaysia without a visa (for certain countries) as Journey Performed Process Fees. The payment should be submitted to the respective college/university when registering upon having received the student pass from the Department.
