Candidates who wish to pursue their studies at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia in any of the above mentioned Faculties must meet at least one of the following requirements;

Master programmes

• Suitable Bachelor’s degree with Honours and CGPA greater or equal to 2.75 from USIM; or
• Suitable Bachelor’s degree with Honours CGPA greater or equal to 2.75 from another institution of higher learning recognised by the USIM Senate; or
• Other qualifications equivalent to a Bachelor degree and relevant professional experience recognised by the USIM Senate.

Doctorate/Doctor of Philosophy programmes

• Suitable Master’s degree with good grades from USIM; or
• Suitable Master’s degree with good grades from another institution of higher learning recognised by the USIM Senate; or
• Other qualifications equivalent to a Master degree and relevant professional experience that is recognised by the USIM Senate; or
• Master degree candidates that are recommended by the Graduates Studies Committee to convert their study to Doctoral programme with the Senate’s approval.

Applicants are required to demonstrate their proficiency in Arabic and English. Evidence of proficiency should be attached to the application forms. Applicants may submit the score obtained in TOEFL, IELTS or in MUET or in any other test that is equivalent and recognised by the Senate to fulfil this requirement.

Applicants for the Faculty of Science and Technology and those who write in English are required to obtain a score of at least 460 in TOEFL (paper based) or 140 in TOEFL (computer-based) or Band 5 in IELTS

Applicants who have been offered admission but do not fulfil the requirement of proficiency in Arabic language will have to register and pass Arabic language courses determined by the University.
