As an international Institution with global functions and importance, INFAD is under an advisory body, the INFAD Advisory Council. The members are appointed from Malaysia and abroad, and is chaired by the Vice Chancellor of USIM. The function of this Council is to provide advice on the focus of the main activities and the current needs of INFAD.

INFAD is led by a Director and assisted by a deputy director, an Assistant Registrar and 6 main divisions:

1. Unit Syariah & Kewangan Islam

2. Unit Aqidah & Pemikiran Islam

3. Unit Politik, Kemasyarakatan & Isu Semasa

4. Unit Penerbitan & Terjemahan

5. Unit Penyelidikan, Persidanngan, Bengkel, Promosi

6. Sokongan ICT   

INFAD also has appointed fellow researchers to do research about fatwa.
