NILAI, November 21, 2017 – A total of 2,562 graduands of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) has received their respective Bachelor Degree, Graduate Diploma, Masters and Doctorate of Philosophy scrolls in the 15th USIM Convocation Ceremony which takes place at Tuanku Canselor USIM Hall, here, from November 21 to 23, 2017.

The event begins with the Opening Ceremony on the 21st November (Session 1), conducted by USIM Chancellor, Your Highness DYMM Tunku Ampuan Besar Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Aishah Rohani binti Almarhum Tengku Besar Mahmud.

The Convocation Ceremony this year comes with the theme “Islamic Technology” due to the graduation of the first batch of Bachelor Degree of Electronic Engineering (with Honours) programme from the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment (FKAB). All 21 graduands of the programme were the intake of 2013/2014 academic session and they are conferred in the first session of the ceremony.

In brief, out of 2,562 graduands, 86 are the recipients of Doctorate of Philosophy; 149 are the recipients of Masters; and 64 receive their Graduate Diploma. While the rest of 2,263 are conferred with the Bachelor Degree in their respective field of studies.

The excellent graduands who received the Anugerah Pelajaran DiRaja (Pingat Jaya Cemerlang) are Nur Akma Mohd Dali from the Faculty of Syariah and Law and Khaulah Binti Mohamad Adi from the Faculty of Leadership and Management. The Anugerah Canselor proudly goes to Mohd Ikmal Hakim Bin Mohd Azman from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences for the undergraduate category and Hamid Abdullah Hamid Al-Balushi from the Faculty of Leadership and Management for the graduate category. While Pingat Emas Naib Canselor is awarded to Nor Shofiyyah Aiza Binti Mohd Noor from the Faculty of Quranic and Sunnah Studies.

In the same event, excellent awards are delivered to graduands who have shown performance way beyond their counterparts in both academic and co-curriculum. The awards are Anugerah Pelajaran DiRaja (Pingat Jaya Cemerlang), Anugerah Canselor and Pingat Emas Naib Canselor. Other awards available are Augerah Khas Yayasan Tun Azmi, Anugerah Khas Malaysian Press Institute, Anugerah Khas Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia, Anugerah Khas Kecemerlangan Kaunseling, Anugerah Khas Kecemerlangan Muamalat Dato’ Dr. Abdul Halim Ismail followed by 5 recipients of Anugerah Buku Universiti, 8 recipients of Anugerah Buku Fakulti and 9 recipients of Anugerah Buku Ko-Kurikulum. This year, USIM has introduced two new awards which are the Anugerah Khas Profesor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato’ Dr. Abdul Shukor Hj Husin and Anugerah Khas The 4M Company.
