PUTRAJAYA, June 22, 2017 – Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) attended the handing over ceremony and the launch of e-KAFA (Kelas Al-Quran dan Fardhu Ain) module before presenting it to the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) last night that was held at Auditorium of the Islamic Complex in Putrajaya.

E-KAFA module is an online learning module that was developed since 2010 by JAKIM with the collaboration of the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) that was followed through in 2015 with a collaboration with USIM until it completed in 2016.

The e-KAFA module development process was referred to the syllabus prepared by JAKIM and will become one of the teaching aids (ABM) to enhance and empower the understanding of the basic Islamic knowledge to KAFA students especially and the society in general.

It features a combination of animation and Islamic graphic videos that is interactive which will then be an attraction to students to go through the e-KAFA module.

“It is hoped that the effort to transform the KAFA learning delivery system can be empowered so that the KAFA program by JAKIM can be an effective advocate to the national Islamic education”, said USIM representative.

“This system can be accessed by all walks of life and wherever regardless of geographical boundaries and time that have internet coverage. Currently, e-KAFA system can be accessed through the following website: simpeni.islam.gov.my using all types of browsers,” he added.

The USIM group members inclusive of Dr Najwa Hayaati, had led Mohd Faizal Mohd Fuaad, Mohamad Faiz Taip, Nurhuda Ruzlan, Muhammad Muizzuddin Musa and Muhammad Zarin Mislan from the Content Development Unit, GOAL ITQAN.

At the ceremony, USIM that was represented by Dr Najwa Hayaati Mohd Alwi, Deputy Director of Innovation in Teaching & Learning Division (GOAL-ITQAN) handed the e-KAFA module and received the certificate of appreciation presented by YBhg Tan Sri Dato’ Haji Othman bin Mustapha, Director General of JAKIM.
