NILAI, March 30, 2017 – The MOHE Chief Secretary officiated the groundbreaking ceremony of FPSK Building in USIM groundbreaking ceremony of Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences (FPSK) building, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) has been grandly officiated by Tan Sri Dr. Noorul Ainur Mohd. Nur, the Chief Secretary of Ministry of Higher Education at the faculty’s building area, USIM today.

This ceremony is indeed a memorable event for the university as it always strives on having the faculty building on its own with cutting-edge facilities to ease teaching and learning activities. The development project will be supervised by JKR Negeri Sembilan and it is expected to be ready for full operation by July 2019. According to the projection, it shall be utilised by students who will enrol in 2019/2020 academic session.

“By having its own administrative building, it is a benchmark to the excellent performance of the students and staff of the faculty. It will also accelerate the development of the faculty from the teaching and learning aspect, the programme offered and the research and innovation activities, besides having a more efficient cost of operation,” said Prof Dato Dr Musa Ahmad, the Vice Chancellor of USIM.

”We hope that with this building, other projects such as the establishment of Faculty of Dentistry and USIM Hospital will also be in the pipeline, in order for us to have our own, sophisticated USIM Health Complex, Insya Allah. Let us pray hard that may this development project can be a continuous benefit to the ummah and the country, in line with our aim to make our campus a blessed or barakah campus,” he said.

Meanwhile, Tan Sri Dr Noorul Ainur Mohd. Nur in her officiating speech has confirmed the strong support and commitment offered by the Ministry in making this project a success. She said that FPSK building as well as USIM Health Complex will be established by the government in different phases of development.
“We hope that the noble efforts to enhance the quality of higher education in Malaysia in order to increase the wellbeing and competitiveness of Malaysians will be blessed by The Almighty Allah,” she said.

”On behalf of the Ministry of Higher Education, I deeply hope that this new building will spark a positive energy to the members of the faculty, thus spearheading the higher education excellence especially in medical and health sciences for both undergraduate and post-graduate levels. I believe in the efforts conducted by the faculty towards producing high-impact research and development; and producing holistic graduates can be embarked”, added her.

This ceremony was also attended by Emeritus Prof Dato Dr. Nik Nasri Nik Ismail, the Director of USIM Health Complex Development, Assoc Prof Dr. Muhammad Shamsir Mohd Aris, the Dean of FPSK and representatives of Jabatan Kerja Raya Kuala Lumpur and Negeri Sembilan.
