NILAI, 19th November 2017 – The Department of Student Affairs Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) and former Student Representative Council of 2016/2017 session, has once again become the main organisers of USIM Convocation Festival in the 15th Convocation Ceremony which take place here from November 21 to 23, 2017.

The officiating ceremony of the festival is conducted by USIM pro-Chancellor, Your Highness YAM Tunku Besar Seri Menanti, Tunku Ali Redhauddin Ibni Tuanku Muhriz at the Main Stage of Tuanku Najihah Sports Complex, in which, at the same time Recycle@USIM campaign is also launched.

“The launching of Recycle USIMBIOSIS 2.0 is indeed a continuation of the previous USIMBIOSIS 1.0 which had successfully taken place in 2015, involving about 100 university students under a voluntary-based-organisation. It is aimed at enhancing and instilling the 3R culture to the neighbourhood community in order to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide which can badly affect our healthy living,” said Prof Dato’ Dr Musa Ahmad, USIM Vice Chancellor in his welcome remarks.

The Convocation Fest this year comes with the theme “Humanising Technology towards Ummah Development”. Various programmes and activities are conducted from fun and leisure to academic and intellectual contents, such as Islamic forum, self-development and entrepreneurship. There are also more than 20 stalls of food, clothes and others available for the graduands, family members and visitors to shop at.

It is expected that the festival will catch the more than 35,000 crowd throughout the six days of the event.

On REcycle USIMBIOSIS 2.0, USIM is listed among the selected public university for the Recycle@University initiative to organise environmental sustainability activities with its neighbourhood community. This scheme is supported by the Coca Cola Malaysia and Universiti Putra Malaysia.
