Introduction

Higher education is a top priority at USIM. The establishment of the Centre for Graduate Studies reflects this. The Centre, operational since 2002, acts as the liaison office between the faculties and the students. It monitors the administration of academic programmes and keeps track of student academic progress.

The Centre encourages academic research which, it is hoped, will generate highly knowledgeable, competent and professional graduates in various fields. The ultimate objective is to provide support to the researcher and educator to study, investigate and spread knowledge relating to Islam.

Objective

  • To offer degree programmes at the Master and Doctor Of Philosophy levels.
  • To produce skilful experts in research and in the development of modern Islamic knowledge.
  • To produce reliable and highly qualified Islamic missionaries, able to contribute to overcoming of the various challenges currently faced by the country.
  • To promote characteristics among students that reflect the qualities of true Muslims, such as independence and competitiveness.
  • To produce graduates with an extensive understanding of Islamic thought in the disciplines of faith, moral and Islamic law, as well as of current knowledge.
