Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), through its Islamic Finance and Wealth Management Institute (IFWMI), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Japan’s Reitaku University to forge a long-term cooperation in education and research.

IFWMI director, Dr. Nuradli Ridzwan Shah Mohd Dali, said the MoU was seen as a positive step in improving bilateral relations between the two universities.


“In order to make USIM and IFWMI as global reference institutes in wealth management and Islamic finance, IFWMI is open to cooperating with international strategic partners, especially among the region.

“We are also collaborating with the University of Chiang Mai, Thailand and, soon, with (a university in) the Philippines,” he said.

At the signing ceremony held on Tuesday, USIM was represented by its vice-chancellor, Prof. Datuk Musa Ahmad,and Reitaku University by its president, Prof. Osamu Nakayama.
