SEPANG, October 24, 2019 – The 8th International Conference on Islamic Economy System 2019 (I-Iecons) with the theme Sustainable Social and Economic Islamic Well-Being was officiated by YB Mrs. Fuziah Salleh, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religion) will appoint Malaysian Islamic Science University (USIM ) as one of the input contributors to the Government to jointly drive the country’s future direction. He said during a press conference after the official launching ceremony at the Movenpick Hotel.
He added that the conference would help the Government make a socio-economic blueprint for the Ummah a success because the contribution of academicians is one of the important aspects in moving the national agenda.
“What is most challenging is to come up with a framework where all stakeholders can play a constructive role and provide positive co-operation so that we can achieve our goals not only as a journal entry,” he added.
Prof. Dato ‘Dr. Roshada Hashim, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Research and Innovation USIM said the position of the Islamic financial industry, influenced by the size of the Islamic world globally, requires a dynamic growth momentum to continue to support the broader growth of the global Islamic economy.
“The conference is therefore seen as a mechanism by which experts and scholars can sit together to share ideas and discuss various topics and issues,” he added.
In addition, this organisation is crucial and a catalyst for FEM to be a leader in USIM’s knowledge development, particularly in economics, finance, banking, finance and accounting.
A total of 100 papers were presented at the conference by local and overseas academics to disseminate their research findings. In addition, two (2) key papers were presented by experts and leaders in economics and finance.
The biannual IECONS conference is a ‘branding’ seminar on the Faculty of Economics and Muamalat (FEM) sponsored by several industrial parties including Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (BIMB). Concurrently the exhibition of product innovations, Muamalat Interactive Game (MIG) and Halal2U inspired by FEM Lecturers led by Dr. Shahidawati Mohd Shahwan and Zakat Game which is the innovative result of lecturers from the Faculty of Shariah and Law led by Prof. Madya Dr. Azman Abdul Rahman, were displayed.
