NILAI, August 18, 2017 – Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), Faculty of Economics and Muamalat has taken a proactive move by collaborating with Sejong University of Korea to organize the First International Halal Management Conference (IHMC) 2017 at Sejong University.

Its senior lecturer, Dr Zurina Kefeli@Zulkefli said the main aim of the two-day conference was to provide a platform to researchers, academicians and the industry to present and discuss current issues, development and results of researchers on the halal field.

She said 78 paperworks are expected to be table at the conference.

“The conference is also to give space to researchers to exchange information and opinions on the findings of researchers and current inputs which give high impacts in boosting existing policies, strategies and action plans to develop the halal industry.

“Subsequently, the organizing of conferences like this can help academicians to share findings and current studies and identify opinion gaps to be improved for future researchers especially in the perspective of the halal industry which is expanding,” she said.

She said, USIM has made the halal field as one of the major area of research to be explored.

In addition, she said USIM had published many research studies in the halal field and halal product development, as well as handling short term halal-related its undergraduates and postgraduate students, as well as industry players.
