SABAH, December 9, 2017 – USIM will develop a water well project at Kampung Sungai Tangkarason in Beluran, Sabah to improve infrastructure facilities, including clean water supply in the area.
In the speech of USIM Vice- chancellor Prof Dato Dr Musa Ahmad, the university would collect funds to implement the project.
“Based on early observation and conversation with the villagers, they have acknowledged a continued lack in infrastructure facilities. The villagers have difficulties getting clean water and electrical supplies, as well as the best road facilities”.
“USIM will collect funds to build the well which will use a centralized pump first. For now the villagers obtain water supply for their daily activities from rain water catchment and the nearest rivers,” Dato Musa added.
The USIM delegation to the village also to visit a group of six Gap Year students who joined a community programme under Sabah’s Islamic Relief Malaysia. They were Mohamad Hassanudin Abu Jamil (Sarjana Muda Quran Dengan Multimedia); Mohammad Syafiq Rosli (Sarjana Muda Quran Multimedia) dan Noorsyafiqah Shaharuddin (Sarjana Muda Pengajian Quran dan Sunnah), Fatimah Adilah Elias (Sarjana Muda Sunnah Pengurusan Maklumat); Nazratun Nadiah Sa’don (Sarjana Muda Al-Quran Dan Sunnah); dan Sayidatul Aqbaar Zakaria (Sarjana Muda Akidah & Agama).
Also celebrate ‘Cheer to school’ with student from Sekolah Kebangsaan Bawang Beluran for the donation of school bags and other stationery to 125 student.
