NILAI, March, 13 2022 – A total of 66 Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) Officer Cadet Students of the Civil Defence Corps (Kor SISPA) was commissioned at a ceremony for the year 2022.

The ceremony was carried out in a simple but meaningful manner in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures in Central Lecture Hall 4, without the presence of parents as a measure to prevent the transmission of Covid-19.

Commissioned by Civil Defence Force Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations), Dr. Haji Norhafifi bin Haji Ismail, in his speech said that the authority and responsibility that will be borne as a volunteer officer of the SISPA Corps should not be taken lightly by others. Each officer has expertise in various fields as they are from among university students throughout Malaysia.

While the Honorary Assistant Commissioner of Civil Defence Force Prof. Dr. Mohd Radhi Ibrahim, who is also the USIM SISPA Corps Commander, said that through this SISPA Corps program, students will become holistic graduates with high academic excellence and soft skills.

“They will also have the advantage of being a superior personality (Towering Personality) in society and have the advantage of facing a challenging work environment later”, said Prof. Dr. Radhi.

During the commissioning ceremony, SISPA Cadet Officer Nurul Naqibah Mohd Amdi, 22, a student of the Bachelor of Electronic Engineering with Honours programme, Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, was awarded as the Best Cadet of the USIM SISPA Corps for the year 2022.

Through her participation in the SISPA Corps, she was involved in many activities organized by the Malaysian Civil Defence Force, including holding the position as Secretary, and the host for many events. In addition, she is also active in the sports and leadership fields. He won third place in the Selangor Youth Skills (Hackathon Sector) competition and the Volleyball Championship.

Since the establishment of the SISPA Corps in 2008, a total of 686 USIM Cadets has successfully completed training and were commissioned as Civil Defence Force Junior Lieutenants.
