NILAI, January 13, 2020 – A total of 90 students from Kolej GENIUS Insan (KGI), Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) which is the sixth batch to enrol in Foundation One for the 2020 admission session. They consist of 42 boys and 48 girls. For the entry level 1 (Form 4) there were 8 boys and 10 girls. Registration and briefing sessions were held at the KGI Multipurpose Hall on January 13, 2020.

According to KGI Director Dr Hayati Ismail, the aim of KGI is to serve as the global reference center for Islamic-based Smart Education, as well as to become a Naqli Aqli knowledge-based cultural education center to produce excellent and talented Islamic scholars.

“The balanced curriculum modules between spiritual values and contemporary sciences can assist in the students’ social and academic development with the guidance of trained lecturers,” Dr Hayati added.

Izz Awwad Mohd Riza, 13, from Sekolah Kebangsaan Dengkil holds the desire to study at KGI under the aspirations and encouragement of his sister and brother who are also students at KGI. The fasttrack acceleration program attracted her to graduate earlier from her friends in other schools. He aspires to become a Specialist Dentist and hopes to continue his studies abroad.

Ahmad Firdaus, meanwhile, who comes from a modest family living in Terengganu pursued his dream to enrol in KGI. His wish was conveyed to the school and he received some donations to start his schooling at KGI. Firdaus aspires to help his family someday and promises to study hard to achieve his dream of becoming a successful architect.

Meanwhile, Nur Husnina Muhanurul, 16, a student from Sekolah Berasrama Penuh Integrasi Jempol, said she will always remember the advice and words of her father and mother to share knowledgeable and be respectful to the teachers to gain success.

For Razan Aziman Rafizan, 16, from Sekolah Berasrama Penuh Integrasi Kuantan ,he said that he is very interested in the Math Olympics program and aspires to compete in the program. He is passionate about Mathematics and plans to become a successful mathematics expert.

The selection of Kolej GENIUS Insan USIM  students is the same as the Smart PERMATA where they will sit for the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) test for the Ujian Kecedasan (UKM-1) for the first screening and they will also sit in the second screening UKM-2 which is equavalent to the world-class IQ test of John Hopkins University.

What sets KGI apart from its other gem programs is that KGI aspires to produce great Islamic thinkers based on the Quran and al-Sunnah specifically for Muslim children, starting at age eight with high IQ and religious interest.
