In line with the concept of knowledge integration of Science and Islam elements in Islamic Science University of Malaysia (USIM), Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Aminuddin bin Harun hopes that new students are ready to enhance their soft skill which includes the mental and physical aspects in becoming proactive and innovative students as well as leveraging on the knowledge of the teaching staff and the facilities available..

He delivers the mandate before 2,471 new students at the Mandate and Students’ Pledge Ceremony which took place at the Dewan Tuanku Canselor in conjunction with the Bachelor’s Degree Student Induction Week 2019/2020 Academic Session on September 5.

He mentioned Malaysia, which is now moving forward in line with the industrial revolution (IR 4.0), will have an effect of manpower shortage in certain work field.

“I urge students to open your minds by preparing yourselves with various skills and sharpening your talents with added value and expertise in order to compete in the IR4.0 era to stay relevant in the modern age,” he said.

He added that besides providing access to a quality higher education, the public university must remain as an innovation hub that is capable in contributing and driving the nation’s prosperity and community well-being.

“Therefore, it is the hope of Negeri Sembilan Government that all students acquire knowledge to your best ability, to carry both Malaysia and Islam to greater heights of recognition. My advice is that students should always be prepared to accept the tasks and trusts to preserve and develop the nation which is Allah’s greatest gift to us”.

He also stated that in producing quality graduates, USIM should always be committed in providing students with the space and opportunity to enhance their abilities thus producing students with high calibre leadership qualities.

“A high-quality graduate is a student who not only attends the lectures to gain marks, but also actively involved in various fields beyond classroom, as an added value to develop the best leadership qualities before entering the career world,” said him.

At the same time, he warned students to stay away from unhealthy activities and acts of violence that could harm their faith. He also called on the people to be grateful, enjoy peace within the multiracial community and appreciate one another in order to heighten their love for Allah.
At the end of his mandate, he congratulated USIM’s involvement in implementing the 2018 and 2019 programs around Negeri Sembilan which strengthen the network cooperation and good relationship between USIM and the community, and hope it shall improve accordingly. Thus, this year the Negeri Sembilan Government has donated RM350 thousand to USIM to make these programs successful.

The Mandate and Students’ Pledge Ceremony was also attended by the LPU Chairman, YBhg. Prof. Dato ‘Dr. Siddiq Fadzil; Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic and International, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahim Abdul Rahman; Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs and Alumni, Prof. Madya Dr. Mohd Rushdan Mohd Jailani; Top Management of USIM, Deans, Department Heads and Lecturers.
