NILAI – Profesor Dr. Adnan Mohamed Yusoff, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), led the list of nine Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) staff as recipients of titles and awards in conjunction with the 76th birthday of the Yang Di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, on January 14, 2024. He was bestowed with the Darjah Setia Bakti Negeri Sembilan (D.B.N.S), which comes with a Datukship.

Among the other eight recipients was Prof. Dr. Mohd Radhi Ibrahim, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), who received the Darjah Setia Negeri Sembilan (D.N.S). Associate Prof. Dr. Asmaddy Haris, Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Income Generation and Financial Sustainability), and Hezan Shah Zainuddin, USIM Bursar, were both honored with the Darjah Pekerti Terpilih (D.P.T).

Further accolades were bestowed upon Ismail Ahmed, Director of the Cultural Center, and Wan Fauriah Wan Samad, Deputy Director, Center for Academic Management, who were recognized as Ahli Setia Negeri Sembilan (A.N.S). Wan Nadihah Wan Jamil, Head of the Chancellery Department, and Aswan Khamal Shah Mohd Yusof, Chief Assistant Engineer in the Department of Development and Facilities Management (JPPF), were recipients of the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (P.J.K). Meanwhile, YM Raja Mariam Raja Mohd Esa, Senior Assistant Registrar at the Department of Registrar, was honored with the Pingat Khidmat Cemerlang Masyarakat (P.M.C).

Prof. Dr. Adnan Mohamed Yusoff, 55, underwent his education at Al-Maahad Al-Muhammadi (Male) in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. His academic journey continued with bachelor’s studies at the University of Jordan in the field of Usuluddin, followed by master’s studies at Al-Bayt University, Jordan, specializing in Al-Quran Studies. He pursued his Doctor of Philosophy studies in the field of Quran and Sunnah Studies at the National University of Malaysia.

Since joining USIM in 2004, Profesor Dr. Adnan has demonstrated his expertise through the publication of over 50 books and held significant positions at the national and international levels. Notably, he served as a Member of the Darul Quran Academic Advisory Committee, Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (2018-2021), a Member of the Negeri Sembilan Fatwa Committee (2014-2020), and a Member of the National Dakwah Council (2014).

In addition to his administrative responsibilities in student affairs, Profesor Dr. Adnan has been a keynote speaker at numerous national and international seminars and conventions, delivering over 20 keynote addresses both domestically and abroad.

The prestigious ceremony, held in conjunction with Tuanku Muhriz’s birthday celebration, saw a total of 473 individuals receiving honors, awards, and medals from the Negeri Sembilan government. The investiture ceremony unfolded in three sessions, with Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun leading the list of recipients.
