INDONESIA – The signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) and Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) took place on 21st February 2024, at UNP, Indonesia.
The Rakan Pembimbing Perkhidmatan Awam (AKRAB) of USIM was entrusted to represent the university’s management to ensure the success of this MoU, following a training program for UNP staff and students that was planned earlier in conjunction with the AKRAB Internationalization Program, Go Asean@Padang, Indonesia, from 19th to 24th February 2024.
UNP Rector, Professor Dr. Ganefri, signed the MoU document, which had been previously signed by the Vice Chancellor of USIM.
In his welcoming speech, UNP Rector expressed his hope that the signing of this MoU would lead to more collaboration between UNP and USIM, particularly in academic, research, and staff and student training aspects.
Professor Dr. Ganefri also proposed a joint research project with USIM on the history of West Sumatra and Negeri Sembilan, considering the ancestral roots of Negeri Sembilan’s population originating from Bukit Tinggi, Paya Kumbuh, Minangkabau, and Padang, West Sumatra.
It is hoped that this strategic partnership will foster collaboration in all aspects of management for the staff and students of both universities.
