NILAI, 16 Ogos 2018 – The launching ceremony of National Day Celebration at USIM 2018 Level was outstandingly and lively celebrated with the enormous number of crowds filling the Central Lecture Hall 3 on 16th August 2018. The ceremony was officiated by the Vice Chancellor of USIM, Prof Dato Dr Musa Ahmad.
The event was made special with the appearance and sharing experience session from two of the nation’s icon; Malaysia’s First Astronaut Dato Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor Al Masrie and Malaysia’s Youngest Female Mount Everest Climber Siti Hanisah Sharudin.
”Sayangi Malaysiaku” or ”Love My Malaysia” being the theme of this year, shows how important it is for multi-racial and multi-religion Malaysians to live in harmony, together united and showing love to the country.
”Sayangi Malaysiaku” or ”Love My Malaysia” is symbolized in the joyful movement of citizens unitedly raising their hand and forming the shape of heart in front of them. Apart from boosting patriotism that expands and empowers our togetherness, ”Sayangi Malaysiaku” or ”Love My Malaysia” also aligns with the the pillar to Malaysians’ integration which is spirit of unity.
Deputy Vice Chancellor (Students Affairs and Alumni) Prof. Dato Dr Hassan Basri Awang Mat Dahan in his speech mentioned that we as obedient citizens of the country should demonstrate our greatest gratitude of being able to enjoy freedom that we inherited. It is our responsibility to together defend our sovereignty, peace and freedom from any internal or external forces that are trying to diffuse all of us.
” Each time we celebrate National Day, we cannot run away from talking about the meaning of independence. Malaya Federal independence was achieved on 31st August 1957 and followed by the fomation of Malaysian Federal on 16th September 1963 are the most precious and valuable enjoyment to all Malaysians especially for the young generation”, Dato Hassan added.
Throughout the National Month, there will be more events held such as National Month Talk, Independence Expression Competition and Independence Cheer @PTj, National Poem Reading, National Month Edition Friday Sermon, Yasin Reading Ceremony and Prosperity Prayer, Negeri Sembilan Level National Day March and National Month Celebration Closing Ceremony.
There were also students from Foster Schools and Cluster Schools under USIM from around Negeri Sembilan. Among the schools are Sekolah Menengah Agama Persekutuan Labu (SMAP Labu), Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Sheikh Haji Mohd Said, Sekolah Kebangsaan Dato’ Ahmad Manaf, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Dato’ Haji Abu Hassan Haji Sail and Sekolah Menengah Agama Nilai.
