NILAI, 3 November 2017 – Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) to further strengthen collaboration to develop Rumah Mizan project. bagi mengukuhkan hubungan kerjasama membangunkan Projek Rumah Mizan.
In the same auspicious ceremony, USIM also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with eight other industries which also contributed to the success of this energy friendly smart homes project.

“The project which costs approximately RM600 000 will be the sole representative for Malaysia to the Final Solar Decathlon Middle East (SMDE) competition in Dubai in November next year” said the honorable Prof. Dato’ Dr. Musa Ahmad.

“So far USIM preparations for the competition are 50 per cent and we look forward to promoting Malaysia. The cooperation between USIM and UTM in terms of architectural and design expertise while UTM will help provide solar engineering experts to strengthen the function of Mizan House,” he added.

Also present in the ceremony was UTM’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Datuk Dr Ahmad Fauzi Ismail. Among the industry partners working together are MAG Builders Sdn Bhd, Ainul Rahman Architect, Inovar Resources Sdn Bhd, Neapoli Sdn Bhd, Shera Public Company Limited, United Seasons Sdn Bhd, Creative Environments and Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi Mara, Sri Gading.

SDME is organized through agreements between the Energy Council of Dubai, DEWA, and the US Department of Energy with the ultimate goal of disseminating knowledge on energy efficient and sustainable housing innovation. It also supports the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to transform Dubai as a global hub for clean energy and green economy, diversifying Dubai’s energy and increasing renewable energy contributions.
