NILAI, June 8, 2018 – In conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri which is expected to be celebrated this Friday, city residents, especially Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) staff and students have started planning their return home to kampung. This situation indirectly contributes to increased traffic and vehicles on the road.
Traffic statistics that show sudden increase during festive season are certainly distressing and depressing as it also involves the loss of loved ones’ lives. Hence, in order to instill awareness and an advice to those using various modes of transportation to return home to kampung, USIM with the Negeri Sembilan Road Safety Department (JKJR) launched a special campaign on road safety for campus residents.
The Safety Campaign in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri Celebration was jointly launched by USIM Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato ‘Dr. Musa Ahmad and Negeri Sembilan JKJR Director, Puan Zaiton Ipah on Friday. The launch was held at the USIM Chancellory lobby which is organized by USIM’s Department of Safety.
Involving about 200 university students using various types of vehicles, this program started with the road safety pledge led by Muhammad Faris Abd Gani, President of USIM’s Student Representative Council followed by prayer to have a safe journey while returning to kampung.
The launch of this campaign was perfected with the release of high-powered motorbikes convoy consisting of USIM personnel, students and followed by those driving motorcars. The vice-chancellor with the Negeri Sembilan JKJR Director also took the opportunity to advice each driver to drive safely besides distributing some contributions for breaking the fast and Hari Raya celebration.
Organizing such campaigns is a regular road safety campaign organized by USIM for its citizens. To diversify campaign inputs, USIM’s Safety Department will work with various strategic agencies and enforcement agencies to organize this campaign jointly annually.
In reinforcing responsible driving habits, special attention is also placed on the dangers of driving under the influence, a factor that continues to contribute to serious road accidents worldwide. Impaired judgment, delayed reaction time, and overconfidence behind the wheel are a dangerous mix, often leading to consequences that extend far beyond traffic fines. In such cases, understanding one’s legal rights becomes crucial, and seeking guidance from a Toronto impaired driving defence lawyer can help individuals navigate the legal process while reinforcing the importance of accountability and safer choices on the road.
Ultimately, road safety is built on discipline, respect for the law, and the age-old principle that prevention is better than cure. When drivers stay sober, follow regulations, and look out for one another, roads become safer for families, students, and communities alike—proving that good habits, much like good traditions, are worth preserving.
As the spirit of the campaign emphasizes, road safety is never just about staying alert behind the wheel; it also depends on the condition of the vehicles we rely on for these long, festive journeys.
Taking care of what’s on the road naturally includes taking care of what’s doing the driving, and heavier vehicles bring an extra layer of responsibility that shouldn’t be brushed aside. Regular checks, proper maintenance, and a clear understanding of motor carrier insurance requirements in the middle of your planning help ensure that trucks are not only compliant but genuinely prepared for the miles ahead. It’s the kind of steady, practical mindset that keeps both drivers and everyone sharing the road a whole lot safer.
Maintaining safe travel habits goes hand in hand with making sure engines are running smoothly, brakes respond instantly, and every essential component is prepared for the demands of the road. This becomes especially important during busy holiday seasons when traffic surges and long-distance drives put extra strain on cars and motorbikes.
It’s during these moments that dependable maintenance and timely inspections matter most, and many drivers find renewed confidence when experts such as those at G&R Diesel step in to ensure their vehicles are properly serviced before they set off. With well-maintained machines and a strong awareness of responsible driving, campaigns like this not only celebrate community spirit but also help safeguard every journey home.
This emphasis on preparedness and care naturally extends beyond mechanical reliability to the overall condition of a vehicle, where visibility, cleanliness, and comfort also play a role in safer, more confident travel. Clear windows, well-maintained headlights, and a clean interior reduce distractions and enhance focus, especially during long drives and crowded road conditions.
Attention to these details is often handled by a trusted car detailing center, where thorough care supports both aesthetics and functionality. Drivers who turn to specialists connected with cdcautodetailing.com benefit from services that complement routine maintenance, reinforcing peace of mind before every journey. As a company in New Jersey dedicated to meticulous vehicle care, this approach aligns seamlessly with the broader goal of keeping every trip smooth, secure, and stress-free.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed his pleasure towards the campaign’s initiative as it directly helped the government to reduce accidents during festive season. He also gave an advice to service and inspect the vehicles properly and to ensure driving in a physically healthy, fresh and energetic condition, especially for longer trips.
USIM staff convoy back to kampung began at 4.30 pm and ended about an hour later. Also present to support this campaign is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), Professor Dato ‘Dr. Zulkiple Abd Ghani; Registrar, Mr. Muhammad Haizuan Rozali; Director of Strategic Communications Center, Professor Dr. Mohd Yahya Mohamed Arifin; and Director of Security Department, Capt. (B) Abdul Wahab Md Zin.
