NILAI, February 8, 2019 –Religious personality who often appears as moderator of the Forum Perdana Hal Ehwal Islam on TV1 and the International Al-Quran Recitation Competition, Ustaz Mohd Hariri Mohammad Daud, 35, was appointed as a new member of the Board of Directors in Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM).
His appointment was approved by the Minister of Education, YB. Maszlee Malek in pursuant to Section 17 (1) (f) of USIM Constitution (Alumni Representative) for a period of three years from 1 February 2019 to 31 January 2022.
Mohd Hariri, a native of Pasir Mas Kelantan, holds a Bachelor’s Degree (Islamic Da’wah and Management) USIM (2009) and a Master of Human Resource Management from Universiti Putra Malaysia (2016) is an Assistant Director of Shariah Maqasid Division at the Department of Islamic Development of Malaysia (Jakim). Mohd Hariri, is appointed as a member of the Board Directors on the capacity of an alumni that has given various contributions to the university since his time as an undergraduate of USIM.
During his studies at USIM, he was entrusted as the President of the USIM Student Representative Council (MPP) and the Debate Club President as well as actively representing the university as a debater of Bahasa Melayu by achieving various national level successes.
Throughout his service in Jakim, he was awarded the Excellent Service Award of the Prime Minister’s Department, Jakim Excellent Staff Award and also won the Malaysian Director General of the Public Service Debate Competition. He was also elected by the United States Embassy in 2018 as a high-performance program participant of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) to study in the United States.
Besides contributing to the community through the dakwah field, he is also active in the field of writing. He has written over 12 books and has received the Top 5 Most Popular Books of 2015 as well as the National Library’s Choice Book 2018. Among his writings are ”Rumah Yang Berkat Membawa Rahmat’’, ”99 Tips Pembentangan Power” and the latest ’Menjejaki FirmanMu Di Langit Amerika’’ . He also contributed Islamic writing as a columnist in several mainstream newspapers and magazines.
The university expresses its congratulations and welcomes this appointment and is confident that he will be able to make significant contributions and bring USIM towards a better achievement in line with the university’s strategic planning to become a global reference institution in the integration of Naqli and Aqli knowledge.
