NILAI, February 17th, 2023 – A total of 19 Tamhidi students (foundation) of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) from the asnaf category received cash financial aid through the “Program Bantuan Awal Pendidikan ke Menara Gading” under the initiative of Yayasan Prihatin Nasional (PRIHATIN). The presentation of this donation was completed by Encik Muhd Fareez Abu, Director of Education at Yayasan Prihatin Nasional, in a ceremony that took place at the USIM Chancellery Lounge.

Yayasan Prihatin Nasional (PRIHATIN) is a charity organization established to assist the poor and the underprivileged, especially among the young, towards a better life involving three central cores: Education, Entrepreneurship and Leadership. PRIHATIN is also the main driving force in helping the government to make an extraordinary impact in implementing community-based programs in all corners of the country.

Also present to celebrate these recipients were Associate Prof Dr. Mahazan Abdul Mutalib, Assistant Vice Chancellor (Strategic Planning & Corporate Relations), and Associate Prof Dr. Juliana Jumal, Dean of the Tamhidi Centre.

Encik Muhd Fareez Abu, in his speech, said students feel the cost-of-living pressure faced at this time because campus life also demands great financial needs. Therefore, financial aid from PRIHATIN is aimed at students from families with fewer means”.

He also explained that the relationship pioneered between USIM and Yayasan Prihatin Nasional, especially in the education promotion program before, can be further developed. Not only in the form of promotion and financial assistance, but we can also explore new forms of collaboration for the benefit of students, such as character development programs, soft skills, and community involvement”, he said.

Meanwhile, Associate Prof Dr. Mahazan Abdul Mutalib, Assistant Vice-Chancellor, said, “the financial assistance received certainly gives relief to the students. I advise spending wisely the cash donations received and planning each other’s financial management as best as possible”.
