NILAI, July 28, 2018 – The Carnival of Schools and Cluster Schools (KASKA) 2018 which was annually organised by The Tamhidi Centre, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) has been a remarkable event in USIM last week. Loaded with variety of programmes in Science and Technology, Reading, Religion, Arts and Mathematics (STREAM), the organiser also conducted the Arabic Camp and Community Engagement 5.0 2018 (ACCENT 5.0 2018), Tamhidi Educational Seminar (TES) and Innovation Competition to the primary school students.

The Director of the Carnival said such programme is essential in providing the avenue for the participants to feel the life of a university student and it is hoped that in the future, they will be the prospect students of USIM.

Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahim Abdul Rahman, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International) of USIM in his officiating speech mentioned that this carnival should play role in marketing and socializing USIM with the schools and cluster schools as well as introducing the programme of studies offered by USIM (for undergraduate programmes) and the Tamhidi Centre.
“We hope that from time to time, we are able to increase the number of participating schools in this carnival,” he added.

Among the programmes conducted was ACCENT 5.0 to enhance the mastery of the Arabic language among the students since they have the basic command in the language, while TES was a platform for the school teachers to present their action research, in line with the Action Research on the Successful Cluster Schhol and Public University. In addition to that, the Innovation Competition was aimed at instilling the creativity and innovative thinking in the youngsters of Malaysia.

Other programmes conducted include: Percussion Workshop 2018, Islamic Leadership Transformation Programme, Let’s Speak Arabic, Robotic Class, Tarannum Workshop, Tahsin Al Quran Workshop, The Exposition of Co-curriculum clubs, Hit The Bull Eyes (Basic Archery Club), Knowing Yourself, Tamhidi Mini Seminar and Warsyah Dinamika Counselling (WDK ’18).
