This partnership was formalized at the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) Signing Ceremony held at Restoran Aras, Menara KL, Kuala Lumpur, on December 19, 2024. The collaboration aims to promote research, publications, and academic initiatives in the field of Islamic heritage studies (Turath Islam).

In his speech, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Sharifudin Md Shaarani highlighted the importance of meaningful partnerships to achieve the university’s mission of integrating revealed (Naqli) and rational (Aqli) knowledge.
“The collaboration between USIM and Aslein Malaya is a testament to our shared commitment to advancing Islamic heritage studies. Together, we aim to strengthen research, publications, and intellectual discourse in this significant field,” he said.
This partnership focuses on five key initiatives, including the appointment of Sheikh Dr. Saeed Abdul Latif Fudah as an Honorary Fellow at USIM’s Centre for Islamic Heritage Studies (U-KIT), the Kalam Ambassador program to nurture talented students, joint research projects, intellectual discussions, and book publications.
The establishment of U-KIT in February 2024 reflects USIM’s dedication to promoting Islamic heritage studies. Under the leadership of Ustaz Muhammad Aizuddin Abdul Aziz, the center has been actively engaged in research, teaching, and consultancy activities to enhance the study and preservation of Islamic heritage.
“The establishment of U-KIT is a crucial milestone for USIM. We are committed to ensuring the growth and preservation of Islamic heritage studies. With the support of partners like Aslein Malaya, we can achieve international recognition in this field,” added Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Sharifudin.
This collaboration is expected to create significant opportunities for both parties to contribute meaningfully to the global landscape of Islamic heritage studies. With the planned projects, the MoA marks the beginning of a promising journey toward academic and cultural excellence.
This partnership underscores USIM’s commitment to building impactful strategic relationships, bridging academia and industry, and enriching the knowledge ecosystem.
