NILAI, February 17, 2016 -Graduate School of Muamalat (GS – Muamalat) established in 2010 was successfully launched by the Faculty of Economics and Muamalat (FEM) as it introduces the availability of this program to the public.

GS-Muamalat offers master’s degree programs, doctoral (PhD) and Executive Development Programs (short courses) which includes two (2) degree programs in business administration for undergraduate course of the administration of transactions and Muamalat (halal).

“The main focus GS-Muamalat, is to offer knowledge in the field of Islamic business transactions (post-graduate programs and executive courses) with the values of Islam as the core foundation to both Muslims and non-Muslims in Malaysia and globally,” said Prof , Dato ‘Dr Musa Ahmad.

This school has students not only among the locals but graduates from abroad such as from Libya, Jordan, Yemen, Algeria and Brunei. This is because these programs meet the needs of post-graduate studies in the field of recitation, economy, banking, accounting and finance.

In the same event, USIM signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) to Dunia Melayu Dunia Islam (DMDI) where DMDI will represent USIM for the recruitment of students to study in Sri Lanka at the masters of Islamic banking, scholar of Islamic finance and a bachelor of accounting and syariah audit.

“In addition to the positive reception for DMDI, we also received inputs from the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) and SMB Solutions Management Sdn Bhd (the Chinese market). For a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the USIM and SMB Solutions Sdn. Ltd., it is meant to represent USIM in the recruitment process for participants to undergo a short course in the halal industry in China, “added Dato ‘Musa.

Prof. Madya. Dr. Amir Shaharuddin as Dean of the FEM also noted that the GS-Muamalat has produced a total of 103 graduates at the Masters and PhD and a total of 283 students that are still studying.

“For this program, lecturers from the USIM will fly to Sri Lanka to enhance this program because the facilities are great,” he said.

At the end of the ceremony, the honorable Tunku Besar Seri Menanti, Tunku Ali Redhauddinn Ibnu Tuanku Mukhriz, Pro Chancellor USIM witnessed the launch and joined the University Top Management to see students participating in the Interactive Transaction Gaming that has been invented by FEM lecturers of USIM.
