NILAI – Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) continues to advance campus innovation with the launch of the Panas Express Kiosk, the first AI-powered convenience store concept in a higher education institution in Negeri Sembilan. This initiative is a strategic collaboration between USIM and Panas Express, marking a new chapter in providing 24-hour self-service facilities for students.

The launching ceremony, held at the Panas Express Lot at USIM’s Student Entrepreneurship Center (PKP), was officiated by USIM’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Sharifudin Md Shaarani. Also in attendance were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Dato’ Dr. Adnan Mohamed Yusoff, USIM’s Bursary, Mr. Hezan Shah Zainuddin, Panas Express Founder, Mr. Vincent Siow, and Co-Founder, Ms. Alicia Tey.

Panas Express is an unmanned AI self-service kiosk with over 80 operational locations nationwide. Its latest installation, the 55th kiosk, is now operational at USIM, enabling students to purchase food and beverages conveniently at any time of the day.

According to Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Sharifudin Md Shaarani, “This initiative not only provides convenience for students but also educates them on the importance of integrity and trust in daily transactions.”

The AI kiosk concept paves the way for a technological revolution in business in Malaysia. With this self-service technology, students gain easier access to 24/7 services, while entrepreneurs and customers are encouraged to adopt more transparent and trustworthy practices in their dealings.
This collaboration extends beyond merely providing campus facilities; it also nurtures the value of integrity, reflecting USIM’s efforts to incorporate holistic education through advanced technology.

With this launch, USIM once again demonstrates its commitment to pioneering innovative education and leveraging technology for the well-being of its campus community.
