NILAI, September 12, 2017 – Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) Vice Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Dr. Musa Ahmad graciously welcome and received the courtesy call by Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Regional Governor, Hon. Mujiv S. Hataman at the Chancellery. The Regional Governor flew in from Cotabato City for a special briefing on the day-to-day details of his 2-month International Attachment Program offered by USIM.

In attendance were all Deputy Vice Chancellors namely Professor Dato’ Dr. Zulkiple Abdul Ghani (Academic & International), Professor Dato’ Dr. Hassan Basri bin Awang Mat Dahan (Students Affairs & Alumni), and Professor Dr. Roshada Hashim (Research & Innovation). Other senior management team present were Registrar Muhammad Haizuan Razali, Director of USIM Alamiyyah, Professor Dr. Fauzias Mat Nor and Director of Centre for Innovation, Industry& Community Networking, Assoc Professor Dr. Awangku Abdul Rahman Hj Awangku Yussuf and Visiting Scholar for Wakaf & Zakah, Dr. Samsiah Abdul Karim.

Briefing for Regional Governor Hataman was conducted by USIM Director of Research, Assoc Professor Dr. Mahazan Abdul Mutalib who is also the Project Director together with CEO Sejahtera Leadership Initiative, Dr. Haji Zulkifly Baharom. They were assisted by the Program Secretariat staffers namely Faizudin Ahmad, Mohamad Adilah, Norhaida Abd Shukor and Rozaimi Razali.

The theme of Regional Governor Hataman’s international attachment program is “USIM-ARMM Peace, Security, Anti-Violence and Extremism Program through Islamic Sustainable Development Approach”. It will be an interactive learning process, case discussion and organized visit to relevant Ministry and Institutions.

The briefing session was capped with a courtesy call at the Office of USIM Chairperson. When Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Dzulkifli Abdul Razak asked about the outcome of his visit, Regional Governor Hataman said “I found that USIM attachment program was perfectly relevant to be implemented at ARMM. Some really good ideas have come through the briefing, not just from the Project Team but also from the feedback of USIM Vice Chancellor and top management team during our discussion. It is an innovative pathways to Sustainable Development and ARMM will be consciously making the effort to intensify Sejahtera Leadership approaches for sustainable development efforts in its present & future decisions.”
