NILAI, 7 MAR 2016 – A student from Faculty of Syariah and Law, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), Irfan Faruqi, 21 was selected to represent Malaysia to Pertandingan Pidato Antarabangsa Bahasa Melayu (PABM), Prime Minister Cup on 19-25 Mar 2016.

He was crowned as the winner and took home a cash prize of RM1000, a trophy and a certificate of appreciation in the finals as he represent the country as the event was concluded in KuliahUdang-undang Ahmad Ibrahim, Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (UIAM), Gombak.

The selections were carried out by the Ministry of Higher Education and Majlis Debat Universiti-Universiti Malaysia (MADUM) involving 28 participants representing higher education institutions each as UIAM, Universiti Malaya, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Putra Malaysia and Universiti Malaysia Sabah.

Presenting the speech entitled “Pendidikan Hakiki Transformasi Umat Pencerah” with mesmerizing style and attractive presentation, it’s real luck for Irfan Faruqi success in the competition.

 

“Thank to Allah, this second participation in the competition is the first finals after last year’s failure thus this came as a sweet success. After this I will shoulder the expectations and the name of Malaysia and USIM together, albeit this pressure is certainly higher, butI will give the best preparation together with the coach, “he said. Meanwhile, Bahasa Melayu debate coach, Mr. Muhammad Irhamuddin Ibrahim said preparations for MWF will focus on scientific research, improvement of the style and vocal intonation and studying the competition from years ago. Irfan Faruqiwas selected to represent the country this time and he was following the footsteps of Mohd Ikhwan Mohd Rosseli who have won in 2013 and appeared as the champion for  PABM Prime Minister’s Cup (Category Nusantara) at that time. Also representing the country together with Irfan Faruqi is Haziq Jamaludin 23 of Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) which is runner-up in this competition.
