KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 26, 2017 – ENACTUS Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) proudly walked away with RM 10,000 cash prize by securing the third place for “Positive Habit Aspire Transformation project” (PHAT) in the category of Best Social Entrepreneurship in Entrepreneurial Award at MOHE Entrepreneurial Awards (MEA) organised by the Ministry of Higher Education 2016, which has grandly taken place in Royale Chulan Hotel.

PHAT which is based on entrepreneurship and social awareness concepts, is conducted by 20   ENACTUS members, supervised by the Centre of Students Entrepreneurship Development (PPKS) to assist the target groups of USIM students, primary school students, Muslim community and small-scale businesspersons.

“This project aims to guide the target groups to efficiently manage the financial system of their business. Besides gaining a lot of information and skills to administer their account, they can also improvise their overall administration to help them sustain the business in the long term,” said Siti Norfaza Halit, the PPKS officer.

“It is hoped that participants of this programme would be able to be aware of the importance of systematic financial administration for the benefits of their business, and at the same time, they are able to monitor their income and expenditure, based on sound knowledge,” she added.

In the event, 27 social entrepreneurship projects were presented from participants of public and private universities, polytechnic institutes and community colleges from all over the country. Kota Marudu Community College, Sabah won the first place while Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), Terengganu won the second place.
