NILAI, January 20, 2020 – Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) through the Academic Program Promotion Team of the Centre of Marketing and Student Admission(PPKP) and faculty engagement participated in the  Career Education Carnival for students at Matriculation Colleges organized by the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE). The carnival gathered more than 30 public and private institutions of higher learning to hold educational exhibitions and briefings to matriculation college students.

According to PPKP Director, Associate Professor Dr Zainur Rijal Abdul Razak, the Career Education Carnival served as a platform for postgraduate students to obtain input and information on institutions of higher learning for them to continue their undergraduate studies. For USIM, this carnival provides an opportunity for USIM to identify potential candidates that meet USIM’s entry requirements.

“By visiting the matriculation colleges students are exposed to the opportunity to obtain information directly and seek advice in choosing areas of study that suited their academic qualifications and interests. It will also increase the enrolment of potential students from matriculation colleges into USIM more aggressively for the Academic Session 2020/2021, ”he added.

Therefore, in order to attract more students from the matriculation colleges to continue their studies at USIM, we will also distribute a brief survey to visitors and the analysis will be presented to USIM management for improvement.

The Career Education Carnival organized by MOE is an extension from 2019 that will include exhibitions and briefings at 14 Matriculation Colleges throughout Malaysia.

This year, USIM PPKP expanded its promotion and publicity by holding exhibitions and promotional talks at six matriculation colleges namely the Johor Engineering Matriculation College (KMKJ) on January 9, 2020, the Malacca Matriculation College (KMM) on January 10 and 11, 2020, the Labuan Matriculation College (KML) on January 17 and 18, 2020, Pahang Engineering Matriculation College (KMKPh) on January 30 and February 1, 2020, Pahang Matriculation College (KMPh) on February 1 and 2 and ends at Kelantan Matriculation College (KMKt) on 6 and February 7, 2020.
